Stainless steel for laboratories and pharma

Stainless steel is hygienic, durable and easy to sanitise. Choosing the right grade and finish matters more than the thickness.

Grades

Grades
GradeUse
304General laboratory use
316 / 316LWhere chlorides or aggressive cleaning agents are present

Neither grade is antibacterial by itself: a smooth surface is what limits bacterial attachment.

Frequently asked questions

When do I need 316 instead of 304?

Choose 316 or 316L where chlorides, saline or aggressive disinfectants are used, such as pharma wash-down areas and some medical environments.
